Notecard interview comparison

  INTERVIEWEES
Maggie, grandmother, female, 60's
Kim, mother, female, 40's
Polly, friend, female, teens
I went into the notecard assignment with an assumption.  The assumption was that age would affect the answers to the questions on media, as media has evolved rapidly throughout the three interviewees lives.  This is why I asked the question "What type of media do you most often use?"  I assumed that the oldest of the three interviewees (my Grandmother) would use radio or TV the most, and the youngest (my friend) would use internet or TV the most.  I was surprised then, at Polly's answer:  "Radio or print."  No surprise with my grandmother or mother though, they both picked TV.
For the first question, "What is media," both of the older interviewees said that they thought the media was news, and the younger said:  "All things that spew info to the masses-TV, radio, net, paper, mags."
The reason that these answers are so different, I believe, is because at the time the older interviewees (my Grandmum and mum) were in school they didn't learn about the Media as much, or its definition.
Finally in answer to the second question "How does the media impact your life," two were mostly the same and all three were somewhat related.  They all said that it provides information to them, or in the case of Polly, she felt connected somewhat to the outside world.  The difference for these answers might be many things, including personal items.
